A Petition to the Legislature and Governor of Illinois regarding The Illinois Universal Health Care Act
We the undersigned, believing health care is a human right, call on the Legislature and the Governor of Illinois to enact House Bill 311, the Illinois Universal Health Care Act. This bill provides:
- A unified public financing plan (single-payer) that covers the health care needs of all Illinois residents.
- High quality care, comprehensive benefits, free choice of qualified health care providers, and no financial barriers to care.
- Equitable financing through a fair tax system.
- Public accountability, including significant consumer representation on the plan's Governing board.
